Travels of Mark Silver

Tuesday roaming

Lost Creek Campground to Steamboat Springs CO

Tuesday morning we got up and headed to Steamboat. I think we wanted to take the new 710 road south, but we took Moffet County Road 1 instead. Perhaps by accident.

But it was a lucky accident. The road went to Hayden Colorado instead of Steamboat directly, but it is an absolute gem of a backroad. The aspen were amazing, the dirt road was perfect and there was nearly no one else on the road.

We followed along Slater Creek (Hwy 116) and bounced around. This image is indicative of the fall colors, I think we hit them spot on for timing.

Brush Mountain in the background.

More amazing views and great road.

Riding through the Aspen.

The colors are so bright it just sends shivers down my spine.

A not so quick stop for mate, this is the 360 view.

Yes, this is real, not A.I.!

We landed in Steamboat Springs Colorado, which is really just down the road from my home 130 miles. But, I took the REALLY long way to get here!

After camping for a few days, I am staying at a nice roadside hotel where you park the motorcycle in front of the room. This I like.

Walking to dinner I find this sign. It might be too close to reality for me?

Mexican food and margaritas and beer for dinner on Creekside. Amazing food. Really.

What a treat!

This criminal showed up looking for handouts. It is just like every major city in the USA. A bunch of young bucks cruising around looking for trouble.

In Browns park we would hit them with a big stick, but in Steamboat they encourage these rascals.
